Zone Alarm is probably the most user-friendly free firewall.

zonelabs.com I think.

Norton Personal Firewall rulez, even I could manage it, and it's free. I'm not sure about how good it is though... noone's been on my computer (yet)...

ZA is crap in my opinion...the free version crashes some games, its a bug that they never fixed. I use Sygate Personal Firewall, its user-friendly and secure, as i had no leaks when i tested it with http://www.pcflank.com/ .

Zone Alarm Pro is great but

1.) its not free and
2.) maybe its only me but it always crashes my computer when i start up with the network cables connected
